Welcome!
You are cordially invited to play in a Pathfinder campaign designed for 3 to 5 level 1 characters. Pathfinder is the spiritual successor to version 3.5 of Dungeons and Dragons, fixing many glaring balance issues. Version 4.0 of Dungeons and Dragons caused a significant divide in the community, and your DM has a hard-on for 3.5 and Pathfinder.
The game will be set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, home of games like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. The time is set after the Time of Troubles, and after the events that followed in the wake of the bhaalspawn. The game will also eventually touch upon the Planescape campaign setting, home of the game Planescape: Torment.
Character Creation
While we will be creating characters together on the first day of play, here's what you need to know if you want a head start:
- Character creation guide
- Form-fillable character sheet
- Character level: 1
- Races allowed: Any from Pathfinder and other third-edition D&D products. (Core races preferred.)
- Classes allowed: Any from Pathfinder and other third-edition D&D products. (Core classes preferred.)
- Starting equipment value: 200g
- Stat allocation method: Point buy, as described in the link above. We will be using 27 points.
It's probably a good idea to familiarize yourself with the Forgotten Realms setting in order to find a place for your character in the game's world, and perhaps determine other things, including religious affiliation.
I especially would encourage you to think about your character's background and his or her motivation for accepting the bounty and heading to Respite.
Scheduling
We'll be ironing out the scheduling details soon. At the moment we are aiming for a minimum of two gaming sessions a month.
