Stedd
Description
The Wagon Driver
Human male. Tall, balding, and of sizable girth. Late 30's. Thick black mustache. Wearing a thick, brown wool coat, dark breeches, black leather boots with the tops turned down, and a silver pin on his lapel, in the shape of scales, marking him a trader. Prone to easy laughter, especially when hitting a bump while on the road, or during an increase of speed or tension.
Background
Born in Luskan, Stedd spent most of his youth poling keelboats between Mirabar and his home city. After marrying and having two children, he began trading afar, in part to escape his home life and enjoy the freedom he relished in the past. He trades throughout the Sword Coast. Aside from travel, he enjoys dicing and regional news, especially if it affects trade. His two-horse wagon is currently transporting six casks of ale from Mirabar to Respite. He seeks to trade them for turquoise and blue quartz, which he will bring to Luskan for a hefty profit. He is acquainted with Hadrin and Andrin, and was paid to deliver Hadrin's bounty.
Relationship to Party
Stedd had some good conversations with Mira while on the road, and the party is aware of his general background.
He trusts the group after they fended off a gibberling attack.
Hadrin Hailskorn
Description
The Bounty Giver
Male dwarf. Middle age. Messy black hair and a straight black beard. Frequently looks lost in thought, with intensity in his dark eyes. Often smoking a pipe. Wears an old longsword at his side, and worn studded leather armor. Speaks with fervor.
Background
One of the three known survivors of the Fall of Dul'Dumar, Hadrin struggles to remember much about his former home. Having long-since buried his uncle Therann, the man who rescued him and Andrin from the unknown assailants, he wandered the Sword Coast with his brother, until settling in Mirabar and working in the guard. Having recently re-discovered an entrance to Dul'Dumar, he is driven to reclaim his homeland and drive out the invaders.
Relationship to Party
Hadrin is skeptical that they'll make it back alive (the last two groups certainly hadn't!), but has a grudging respect for Vurt, who appears to be capable of handling that axe of his.
Andrin Hailskorn
Description
The Quiet Brother
Male dwarf. Oiled split black beard, black hair combed back. Fierce eye contact. Smells of mead. Wears a breastplate with Axe of Mirabar sigil. Wears an axe slung on his back. Quiet. Mostly gestures, but when necessary, speaks using the fewest words possible.
Background
As Hadrin's older brother, Andrin has played a supportive role during their upbringing after their uncle's death. He saw to it that they had a source of income and stability while Hadrin obsessed over their family's fate. Andrin is indifferent as to Dul'Dumar, preferring to make his own way in the world, but wants to support Hadrin to keep him safe. While numbed by the events of Dul'Dumar, with his memory little better than Hadrin's, Andrin wishes to remember the color of his mother's eyes.
Relationship to Party
Aside from the bounty delivery, the party has not interacted much with Andrin.
Arveene
Description
The Innkeeper's Wife
Late 40s, dark blonde hair, dirty skin. Worn blue dress, dagger at side. Crescent moon necklace.
Background
Born in Longsaddle, Arveene worked as a laundress until meeting and marrying Randal, a stablekeeper. They lived and saved gold to live out Randal's dream of building his own tavern. Hearing about Mirabar's new mining establishment, Respite, they packed their things and set off for their new life.
Unable to bear children, they adopted a street urchin, Dorn, who is now the stableboy for The Miner's Rest.
When the call to clear out the kobolds came, Randal bid his family farewell and never returned from the mines.
Arveene has since become despondent, not bathing, maintaining her husband's tavern, or changing clothes.
Relationship to Party
- Arveene loathes Vurt for his coldness regarding her husband's death.
- Arveene adores Nelu for her kindness and warmth.
- Arveene is largely indifferent regarding Mira.
Talindra Amalith
Description
The Priestess of Selûne
Half-elf female. 5' 5" tall. Slender and delicate, with moon-white skin and raven-black hair, falling to her shoulders in soft curls, decorated with crescent moons and stars that glitter when she turns her head. Always mirthful and guarded, quick to take a mocking tone. Speaks with a slight slur. Wears a silver riding dress with divided skirts, a black bodice, silver gloves, and a white cloak bearing seven stars and a pair of eyes, the holy symbol of Selûne. Motions with her hands frequently.
Background
Talindra has been aiding the townsfolk in healing the injured. She resides in The Mayor's House, currently serving as an infirmary. There is an air of royalty about her, and while most conversations with her are focused on the present, it is common knowledge in Respite that she hails from Silverymoon.
She tried to warn the townsfolk against attacking the kobolds, urging for them to wait for The Axe of Mirabar to respond, but understands that the Council of Glittering Stones has all but abandoned the settlement due to rising tensions with Luskan.
Relationship to Party
Talindra is seemingly amused by Vurt, and is dismissive of Mira and Nelu.
