Background
Knighthood
Glenn Phaulkon, once a beacon of hope in the house of Phaulkon in Cormyr, was poised to be knighted. His noble family held significant influence, championing honor and integrity. As he neared the final steps of his knighthood, he and his esteemed mentor, Cyrus, decided to commemorate the occasion at a local tavern.
Honor’s Price
The evening's joviality was shattered when a frantic town guard entered, breathlessly proclaiming, “The Phaulkon manor is under siege!” The perpetrators? The Zhentarim, a shadowy organization that had once approached House Phaulkon with a morally questionable proposal. The Phaulkons, upholding their honor, had refused to be a part of the Zhentarim's plan to covertly smuggle and sell dangerous artifacts to volatile regions across Faerûn, potentially unleashing chaos and endangering countless lives.
The Attack
In retaliation, the Zhentarim, under the guidance of one of Manshoon's notorious clones, attacked the Phaulkon manor. Glenn and Cyrus dashed back, only to witness the manor, a symbol of their legacy, consumed by flames. Amidst the roaring fires, Glenn's gaze met that of Manshoon's clone, who held an eerie hourglass emanating dark energy.
Dual Curses
As Cyrus, with valor in his heart, lunged at the attackers, he was promptly petrified, his form frozen in a battle stance, serving as a stark reminder of the might of the Zhentarim. Manshoon, amused by Glenn's shocked expression, remarked on his frog-like appearance, hinting at his vulnerability. With an incantation and the power of the hourglass, Manshoon cast upon Glenn a spell of Temporal Transmogrification, cursing him to gradually transform into a frog over the course of a year.
Exile and Doom
Devastated by the loss of his home and tormented by the impending transformation, Glenn banished himself from the charred remains of his ancestral lands. Now, he roams Faerûn, not just in search of a cure to reverse his fate, but also to avenge his house's desolation and restore Cyrus from his stony imprisonment. But time is of the essence, as every passing day draws Glenn closer to his amphibian fate. He must find a master of arcane or divine magics capable of removing such a curse — and soon.
Campaign Start
After being turned away by the Red Wizards of Thay, Glenn journeyed north to Rashemen, seeking shelter from the rain in Ironjaw’s Mirth, hoping that the witches of that nation would be able to aid him.
