Ray of Flame is an evocation cantrip available to sorcerers and wizards.
Description
You conjure a thin beam of concentrated flame and shoot it at a creature you can see within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d8 fire damage. If the spell hits, the target ignites in flames and at the start of its next turn, it takes an additional 1d4 fire damage. However, the target can use its reaction to make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC to avoid this burning effect, or use a subsequent action to put out the flames.
At Higher Levels
The initial damage of this spell increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8). The subsequent burning damage increases by 1d4 at 11th level (2d4) and 17th level (3d4).
